Package Information Guide

At POS WITH US, we believe safe delivery starts with smart preparation.

This guide is designed to help you package your shipment correctly, understand which goods are considered dangerous, and know what items are prohibited under international and national regulations.

Some materials are considered Dangerous Goods (DG) and are subject to strict international transport regulations. These include items that may pose risks to people, property, or the environment during transport.

Examples of Dangerous Goods

  • Lithium batteries (used in electronics)
  • Aerosols and compressed gases (deodorants, sprays)
  • Flammable liquids or solids (perfumes, paints, alcohol)
  • Oxidizing agents (bleach, chemical cleaners)
  • Dry ice or refrigerated gases

Shipping Rules & Responsibilities

  • DG shipments must comply with IATA/ICAO and local aviation safety standards.
  • They require special packaging, hazard labels, and specific documentation.
  • Not all couriers or destinations accept Dangerous Goods — contact us first.
  • Items not declared properly may be delayed, returned, or destroyed by customs.

At POS WITH US, we follow international best practices from FedEx, DHL Express, and Pos Indonesia to ensure all hazardous materials are shipped responsibly and safely.

Important:

If you are unsure whether your item qualifies as a dangerous good, please contact our team before shipping.

Our logistics specialists will help identify, classify, and prepare your shipment according to the correct safety standards.

Proper packaging is the foundation of a successful shipment. Well-packed items are less likely to be delayed, damaged, or rejected by customs.

1. Assess Your Shipment

Before you start packing, determine your item’s size, weight, shape, and fragility.

Different types of goods require specific packaging approaches — for example, fragile ceramics versus solid mechanical parts.

2. Choose the Right Materials

  • Use strong, corrugated cardboard boxes (preferably double-wall for heavier items).
  • Leave at least 6 cm (2.5 inches) of space between the item and the box walls.
  • Fill empty spaces with cushioning materials such as bubble wrap, foam sheets, or packing peanuts
  • Avoid reusing old or weak boxes, as they may collapse during transit.
  • For liquids or powders, use leak-proof containers with sealed plastic liners.

3. Internal Protection

  • Wrap each item individually, especially if multiple products are in one box.
  • Separate items using dividers or cushioning to prevent friction or impact.
  • Test the package by gently shaking it — if anything moves, add more padding.

4. Sealing & Labeling

  • Use high-quality tape (minimum 48 mm width) and apply the H-taping method to seal all edges securely.
  • Attach the shipping label on the largest, flattest side of the box.
  • Remove or cover any old labels or barcodes from reused packaging.
  • If needed, mark special handling instructions like FRAGILE or THIS SIDE UP.

5. Documentation & Customs

  • Accurately describe the contents and value on your shipping documents.
  • Include invoices, export declarations, or permits if required.
  • Make sure your waybill matches the contents of your package to avoid customs delays.

Proper packing not only protects your goods — it also protects your reputation as a reliable shipper.

Certain items cannot be shipped through international or domestic courier services due to safety, legal, or ethical restrictions. These prohibitions are enforced by international transport authorities and customs offices.

Commonly Prohibited Items

  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, or psychotropic substances
  • Explosives, ammunition, or fireworks
  • Flammable or radioactive materials
  • Counterfeit goods, currency, or securities
  • Pornographic or obscene materials
  • Animal or human remains
  • Weapons, replica firearms, or parts thereof
  • Items prohibited by local law in the destination country

These restrictions are based on public sources from Pos Indonesia, DHL Global, and FedEx International Prohibited Items Lists.

Consequences of Shipping Prohibited Goods

  • Shipments may be confiscated, returned, or destroyed by authorities.
  • The shipper may face fines, delays, or legal penalties.
  • POS WITH US reserves the right to refuse or cancel any shipment that violates these regulations.

How to Stay Compliant

  1. Always check the destination country’s import restrictions before shipping.
  2. Declare your shipment truthfully and provide full item descriptions.
  3. If in doubt, contact our support team to verify whether your item is allowed.

By following these guidelines, you ensure safety, compliance, and peace of mind — for you and your customers.
