Food & Snack Forwarding
Food & Snack Shipping from Bali
Prices and rules checked
Indomie, sambal, kopi, kerupuk, snacks from home. Food is one of the most requested things Indonesians abroad ask their families to send. It's also one of the most regulated. Every destination country has its own rules on what food can enter, how it must be packaged, and what must be declared. A food parcel sent without checking these rules risks being held, taxed, or destroyed at customs.
Pos With Us forwards food and snacks from Bali, built around doing this correctly, alongside the export paperwork some destinations ask for. We check your items against destination country rules before anything ships, pack food airtight and securely, and prepare declarations that customs accepts. Commercially packaged snacks, coffee, dried goods, and instant foods ship successfully to most destinations when handled properly.
For Japan there is one thing more, and only for Japan: we will do the shopping as well. Indonesians working there ask for the things that are hard to find and awkward to describe, so rather than have a family member here run around the shops, we buy the groceries ourselves and send them. It is ordinary retail food, bought with money you send us first, going to your own address in Japan. That is a jastip service and it is the only one we run: we do not buy anything else, for anywhere else, for anybody.

Which service should you use?
These are the services we're sending on right now. We'll tell you which one we'd pick for your parcel, and why, before you commit to anything.
| Service | Runs on | Transit | Tracking | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DHL Express | DHL | 4 to 5 business days | Full, door to door | Anything urgent, valuable, or going to a customer who is waiting |
| FedEx | FedEx | 4 to 5 business days | Full, door to door | Much the same as DHL. We pick whichever is better for your route and weight |
| Pos Ekspor | Pos Indonesia, carried by DHL | 5 to 7 business days | Yes | A couple of days slower than DHL direct, and a little cheaper |
| Pos Registered / ePacket | Pos Indonesia | 14 to 30 days, sometimes longer | Limited | Small, light, low value things where cost matters more than speed |
Transit times run from the day your parcel is dispatched, not the day you drop it off, and customs can add a day or two at the far end. Freight is quoted per shipment, since it depends on weight, destination and the carrier's surcharge on the day.

Frequently asked questions
- What food can I send from Bali overseas?
- Commercially packaged, shelf-stable items ship best: instant noodles, snacks, coffee, dried goods, and sealed sauces. Fresh, homemade, meat, and dairy products are restricted in most destinations. Send us your list and we'll check each item against your destination country.
- What is the cheapest way to send food from Bali to Japan?
- EMS, and by a clear margin. It runs 3 to 5 days, takes up to 30 kg, is tracked and insured, and costs well under express. EMS is closed to a number of countries at the moment, so we do not offer it as a general service, but Japan is open and for a food parcel under 30 kg it is usually the best buy. DHL and FedEx also run to Japan and are worth the difference when the parcel is heavier or has a date on it. Before you pack, read what Japan will and will not admit on the Bali to Japan page: meat in any form is refused outright.
- Can I send food from Bali to Australia?
- Australia has the strictest food rules of any major destination. Some commercially packaged items are permitted with accurate declarations; many aren't. We check every item against current Australian biosecurity requirements before shipping.
- How is food packed for international shipping?
- Airtight and cushioned. We seal items to prevent leaks and odors, cushion jars and bottles, and pack everything to withstand a long journey and customs inspection.
- How long does food shipping take, and will items expire?
- DHL and FedEx arrive in 4 to 5 business days, well within shelf life for packaged goods. Pos Ekspor takes 5 to 7. We'd avoid the 14 to 30 day services for food unless the shelf life is long. Send items with at least 2 to 3 months left on them and we'll flag anything that looks too close to expiry.
- Can you supply Indonesian food products to my store abroad?
- Yes. We support businesses that sell Indonesian products overseas with regular consolidated shipments, commercial documentation, and destination compliance checks. Message us to discuss volumes and routes.
