Terms of Service
Last revised
These are the rules the counter already runs on, written down. Nothing here is new if you have shipped with us before. The parts worth reading before you use a service are the one on holding parcels, the one on what we refuse, and the one on what we are and are not responsible for.
Who you are dealing with
Pos With Us is a shipping counter in Kerobokan, Badung, Bali, also known locally as Kantor Pos Arjuna. We are an authorised Pos Indonesia agent and we book shipments with DHL and FedEx. We are not any of those companies, and nothing on this site is written on their behalf.
You can reach a person at the counter during opening hours, or on WhatsApp. The contact details on this site are the only ones we use.
Quotes, prices and what moves them
Quotes are estimates until the parcel is on our scale. Couriers charge on whichever is greater, the weight or the volume, so a quote given from a photo can change once we measure the box. If it changes, we tell you before anything is booked, and you are free to walk away at that point.
Published prices on this site are in Indonesian rupiah and are what we actually charge. They can change, and the date each page was last checked is printed at the top of it. The price that applies to your job is the one we quote you, not the one that was on the page last month.
Import duty, destination taxes and customs charges are set by the destination country, are never included unless we say so in writing, and are normally collected from the recipient on delivery.
What we will not do
Some of these are the law and some are ours. All of them are firm, and we do not negotiate them case by case.
- We do not ship anything prohibited for export from Indonesia, or prohibited for import into the destination country. If there is no legal route, we say so rather than look for a way around it.
- We do not under-declare the value or misdescribe the contents of a shipment, for any reason, including to reduce duty at the other end.
- We do not buy anything on your behalf or pay for anything on your behalf, with the single narrow exception of the grocery service to Japan, which is paid for before we shop.
- We do not let our company name, address, tax number or telephone number be used to open, verify or operate an account anywhere.
- We never ask you for a verification code or a one time password, and we never give one to anybody. Nobody contacting you in our name has any reason to want one.
- We do not accept a parcel for one person that was ordered and paid for by another.
- We do not forward goods we have not been allowed to see.
Packing and what you are telling us
When you hand us a shipment you are confirming that the contents are what you have told us they are, that they are legal to send and to receive, and that the value you have declared is the real one. We prepare declarations from what you tell us. If that turns out to be wrong, the consequences at either border are yours, not ours.
We will tell you honestly when something you have packed yourself will not survive the trip. If you ask us to send it anyway, we will, and damage in that case is not something we can be responsible for.
Holding parcels for you
This section covers the package receiving service, and it is the part people most need to have in writing.
One fee is charged per parcel, set by its size or its weight, whichever puts it in the higher tier. That fee includes the first fourteen days, counted from the day the parcel arrives. From day fifteen the same amount falls due again for each further week, and part of a week counts as a whole week. If the fourteenth day falls on a day the counter is closed, you have until the next day we open. The same applies to the sixty day limit below.
Charges stop at day sixty, so the deadline is also a ceiling. The most a parcel can accrue is IDR 400,000 for a small one, IDR 600,000 for a medium one and IDR 1,200,000 for a large one. Forwarding a parcel through us waives one further week of holding, once per parcel. Fees are settled in full when the parcel leaves, either at collection or before we forward it, and we hold the parcel until they are settled.
On the day your parcel arrives we message you its size, its fee, the date the included fortnight ends and the date we have to clear it by. If it is still here as the sixty days approach, we message you again. Sixty days after arrival, a parcel we have had no reply about is treated as abandoned, and we may return it to the sender, donate it or dispose of it. By using the service you are agreeing to that, which is the only reason we are able to do it. We would far rather forward a parcel to you than reach this point, and we will say so before we get there.
We are not a registered business address, a legal domicile or a mail forwarding subscription, and we cannot receive company post or official correspondence on your behalf.
Stock we hold for brands
Fulfillment runs on a separate written agreement covering storage, counts and handling, and that agreement takes precedence over this page wherever the two differ. Your stock stays yours throughout. We store it separately from other clients, count it in against your SKU list, and report on it monthly.
Either side can end the arrangement with reasonable notice. Your stock goes back to you, and outstanding fees are settled before it leaves.
Loss, damage and cover
Once a shipment is with a courier, it travels under that courier's own terms and their liability limits, not ours. Those limits are usually far below the value of the goods. Where cover is available we will tell you what it costs and what it actually covers before you commit, including the categories that are excluded no matter who carries them, and we would rather you heard the real limit from us than discovered it during a claim.
We will pursue a claim with the courier on your behalf and we will tell you honestly how likely it is to succeed. What we cannot do is guarantee an outcome that is theirs to decide, and the same is true of customs: whether a parcel clears, and what it is charged, is the destination's call, not ours.
For goods in our own hands at the counter, our responsibility is limited to what you paid us for that job, except where Indonesian law does not allow that limit.
Payment
Shipments are paid before dispatch. Counter services are paid when the work is done. Fulfillment is invoiced monthly under its own agreement. We do not take card details over WhatsApp and we will never ask you to send a payment to a personal account: if a message claiming to be from us does either, it is not from us, and we would like to know about it.
Which law applies
Indonesian law applies to everything on this page, and to any dispute between us. We would much rather settle a problem across the counter than anywhere else, and in 12 years that is how nearly all of them have been settled.
These terms can change. The date below is when they were last revised, and the version that applies to your job is the one published when you booked it.
Something here you want explained?
Ask. These pages are written to be read rather than to be impenetrable, and if a clause is not clear then that is our problem to fix, not yours to work around.
