Send a Package from Bali to Singapore

Prices and rules checked

Express is 4 to 5 business days and EMS is 5 to 7, the same as most places we send, because distance is not what sets the clock. Singapore is easy on paperwork and unforgiving on contents: vapes are banned outright, and the food allowance everyone quotes applies to what you carry in your hand, not to what you post. Bring it to the counter and we will read your list before anything is packed.

Singapore is two and a half hours from Denpasar and a parcel still takes four to five business days to get there. That surprises people, so it is worth saying plainly: flight time is not what sets the clock. Collection, export handling, the courier network and clearance at the other end are, and those take the same few days whether the parcel is going to Singapore or to Frankfurt. Anyone promising you next day on this route is selling you the flight time and not the job.

What Singapore does give you is an easy border. The paperwork is light, the tax position is simple, and most parcels go through without anyone touching them. That ease is exactly what catches people out, because it invites you to skip the reading. Singapore enforces a small number of rules harder than almost anywhere else we ship to. The two items most likely to be in a parcel from Bali, food for family and something bought on holiday, are the two the rules bite hardest.

Two kinds of parcel go there from this counter. One is commercial: Bali brands with Singaporean customers, sellers sending jewelry and apparel, businesses moving samples and stock. The other is personal: Indonesians working or studying in Singapore, and the families here sending food from home.

Read the next section before you buy a box. Most of what gets stopped on this route is stopped for what is inside it, not for how it was declared, and no courier can talk a prohibited item through.

Who this is for

  • Bali sellers and brands shipping orders to customers in Singapore
  • Families sending shelf-stable food to relatives working or studying there
  • Businesses sending samples, documents or stock between the two
  • Visitors who bought more in Bali than they can carry out
  • Anyone who wants the contents checked against Singaporean rules before packing

Not a fit: We cannot send anything on the prohibited list below, whoever it is for and however it is packed. If your parcel is mostly home-cooked food or contains anything vape related, the answer is no before we start, and we would rather tell you now than after you have paid for freight.

What it costs to Singapore

The cheapest and the fastest international route we have, because it is the shortest. Pos Indonesia rates from this counter, by weight, and these are what you pay rather than a cost we mark up.

The number worth noticing is Paketpos Biasa at 10 kg: Rp 353.142, which is Rp 35.314 a kilo and the cheapest rate on any route we run. EMS reaches Singapore in three days, the fastest anywhere. Under 2 kg there is also ePacket, from Rp 294.201. Read out of the Pos Indonesia booking system for postcode 80361 on 22 September 2026, and the transit days are their own estimate. Billed on whichever is greater, actual weight or volumetric, which is why we vacuum clothing. Packing, the customs form and insurance are quoted with the parcel in front of us, and we confirm the figure before anything is sent.

What we will put in a box for Singapore, and what we will not

We do

  • Commercially packaged, shelf-stable food in its original sealed retail packaging
  • Coffee, tea, dried goods, kerupuk and sealed snacks with no meat content
  • Clothing, textiles, resort wear and accessories
  • Plated and costume jewelry, with finished pieces rather than loose stones
  • Handicraft, homeware, art and small furniture, crated where the item needs it
  • Documents, samples and commercial stock with proper invoices

We will never

  • Vapes, e-cigarettes, pods, coils, e-liquid and any part of any of them
  • Heated tobacco devices, including IQOS and anything like it
  • Chewing gum, unless it is dental or medicated gum approved by the HSA
  • Home-cooked and home-packed food of any kind
  • Meat and anything containing meat, unless it comes from a source Singapore has accredited
  • Anything you would like declared below what it is actually worth

The vape rule is the one that catches visitors, because vapes are sold openly in Bali and banned completely in Singapore: not restricted, not declarable, banned, including the liquid and the spare parts. Posting one is an offence and the parcel does not simply get returned. Gum is the rule everybody has heard of and still forgets. On food, people quote limits of a few kilos per type and a total per person. Those come from the allowance for travellers carrying food in their own luggage, and that allowance does not cover anything arriving by post. Food sent as a parcel is read as an import, which is a different and stricter test, and meat is the part that fails it most often. Send us your item list and we will go through it with you before anything is packed.

What's included

DHL Express and FedEx, 4 to 5 business days

Door to door on a committed date with full tracking. What we reach for when a shipment is urgent, valuable, or going to a business that is waiting.

EMS, 5 to 7 days

Tracked and insured through Pos Indonesia, and cheaper than express. Slower to Singapore than express, so it suits a parcel with no date attached to it.

Pos Registered for the light and cheap

The budget end, for small low value things where the cost matters more than the calendar. Quoted against the others so you can see what the wait buys you.

Item check before you spend anything

We read your list against Singaporean rules first. If something will not clear, you hear it before you have bought the box.

Declarations prepared with you

Accurate contents and values, with the duty and tax position explained before you send rather than after.

Packed at the counter

Airtight for food, cushioned for fragile, vacuum packed for clothing. We pack it properly rather than taping up what it arrived in.

Cargo when it is past parcel size

Furniture, volume, anything a courier will not take as a parcel goes as sea or air cargo instead, quoted per shipment.

Regular shipping for sellers

If Singapore is a market rather than a one-off, we can hold your stock here and ship each order as it comes in. See fulfillment.

Frequently asked questions

How long does shipping from Bali to Singapore take?
DHL Express and FedEx take 4 to 5 business days. EMS takes 5 to 7 days. Pos Registered is the slow, cheap option and takes considerably longer. People expect faster because Singapore is close, but the flight is the short part of the journey: the days go on collection, export handling, the courier network and clearance. Tell us your deadline and we will say honestly whether it is realistic before you book anything.
Will my parcel be taxed when it arrives?
Singapore gives import relief to goods arriving by post or air where the CIF value does not exceed S$400. CIF is the goods plus insurance plus freight. Above that, GST is charged at 9 per cent. Liquor and tobacco never get the relief whatever they are worth, and the relief does not apply to anything arriving by sea or by land. We work out where your parcel sits before it goes, so nobody is surprised at the other end.
Can I send food to Singapore?
Commercially packaged, shelf-stable food in its original sealed packaging is usually fine. Home-cooked food is not, and meat is the one that most often fails: it has to come from a source Singapore has accredited, which rules out most of what people want to send. Send us photographs of the labels and we will read them with you before anything is packed.
I read I'm allowed 5 kg of food per type. Doesn't that cover me?
No, and this is the most common mistake on this route. Those limits belong to the allowance for travellers bringing food in their own luggage. They say nothing about parcels, and a parcel is assessed as an import instead, under stricter rules. Carrying something into Singapore yourself and posting the same thing are two different tests, and passing one tells you nothing about the other.
Can I send a vape or e-cigarette to Singapore?
No, and we will not accept one. Singapore bans vapes, e-cigarettes, pods, coils and e-liquid completely, along with heated tobacco devices, and that includes spare parts and empty hardware. It is not a matter of declaring it correctly. This catches visitors constantly, because the same item is sold openly a few streets from our counter.
Is chewing gum really banned?
Yes, with a narrow exception for dental and medicated gum approved by the Health Sciences Authority. Ordinary gum is prohibited to import. It sounds like a joke until it is in your parcel.
Can you ship commercially, for my shop or brand?
Yes, and Singapore is one of the easier markets to serve from Bali because the lane is short and the paperwork is light. We prepare the invoices and declarations, and if the volume is steady we can hold stock here and ship each order as it comes in rather than you sending them one at a time.
What if my parcel is too big or heavy for a courier?
Then it goes as cargo rather than as a parcel, and it is quoted per shipment. Furniture, bulk orders and anything past parcel size travel that way. Tell us the rough dimensions and weight and we will tell you which side of the line you are on.

Send us the list first

Photograph what you want to send, or just type it out, and we will tell you what clears, what does not, and what it costs, before you buy a single box.
